Safeguarding

How we protect the people we work with, and what to do if you're worried about someone

Last Updated: June 2026

The 8Wise Project CIC is committed to protecting the welfare of everyone who engages with our services, including adults, young people, and any children who may be present at or affected by our work.

We recognise that people accessing wellbeing support may be experiencing stress, overwhelm, isolation, or other forms of vulnerability, and we take our responsibility to act promptly and appropriately very seriously.

Our approach is built on the six principles of adult safeguarding

  • Empowerment — supporting people to make their own informed decisions

  • Prevention — helping people recognise and manage pressure before it escalates

  • Proportionality — responding in a way that matches the level of risk, never more, never less

  • Protection — taking appropriate action, and working with the right agencies, when someone is at risk

  • Partnership — working with, not around, the organisations and communities we operate alongside

  • Accountability — being clear and transparent about decisions, and the reasons behind them

What we do, and don't do

The 8Wise Project CIC provides wellbeing education, tools, and guidance. We do not deliver services directly to under-18s, and we are not a crisis, emergency, or clinical service. Where someone is in immediate danger or distress, our role is to direct them to the right emergency or crisis support, in line with our published Crisis Support information, available here.

If you have a safeguarding concern

If you have a concern about your own safety, or about someone else, in connection with The 8Wise Project CIC, please contact us at [email protected].

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please contact 999 or the appropriate emergency service straight away — please see our Crisis Support page for further options.

Our full Safeguarding Policy is available on request.
